Just to let you know even though they are small, In the proper hands ie vet splinting correctly breaks can be mended even when you think there may be little hope.
I have got a 1 year old female collaris who broke her rear leg just under her knee.
We also thing she has musscle damage and were thinkign she will have little quality of life left if she cannot get about to well.
Also i would assume they are far to small to operate on although you guys in the USA are far more advanced in collareds than us over here in UK.
Infact the vet was a specialist reptile and snake vet, yet this was the first collared she had seen.
Anyway to cut a long story short,, 4 weeks of splinted leg,, and also small viv away from all the others, UV brought much lower and higher doesage of calcium and she is now doing really well.
Her back leg will only ever go back to about 90 degree's but she is using her foot when before it just dangled and she had no control of it.
She can even do small jumps now as well so am so pleased i took her to vet.
One thing for anyone to bare in mind with reptiles is somethign the vet said to me,
as their bones are so small, they try to heal very quickly if broken, so time is deff the key to getting a limb in the correct position before it starts to mend.
Otherwise you may find that the bone has already started to fuse in the wrong place,, resulting in either minimal use or even having to re break and re set,, which i am not sure if they could cope with the stress of being so small.
