Question about feeding response

lgehrig4 May 13, 2006 11:18 PM

I bought a captive bred baby ball a few weeks ago and he has eaten f/t rat pups for his first 2 feedings without hesitation. Last night he missed the pup and got a mouthful of bedding which he dropped in his water bowl. Afte that he didn't want anything to do with the pup and I tried to feed him again tonight with no luck again.

Could he have been turned off to these because of that incident? He's been cruising around his cage like he's hungry, but I couldn't entice him even off tongs.

thanks
jeff

replace the chips with newspaper and leave the pup in overnight (not a live pup) let him decide on his own

Good advice! If you really want to keep the aspen tho here is what i have started doing on feed nights. I take a solid piece of shelf liner and lay it on top of the aspen beding. He usually just hangs out in his hide until i move the f/t rat in front of his hide and zap!! I wait till he is done and then just remove the liner!

Good luck on whatever you decide to do!

........it's not aspen, tt's Carefresh. I
l'll take your suggestion, but does it normal that a Ball Python would would be affected by an incident like that. If so, they must have pretty good memories.
