Just an observation

I just wanted to comment that this forum has recently gained a rather hostile attitude. I personally feel that information and techniques are best shared in an attitude of friendliness. It pains me as much as the next person so see a poorly cared for animal, but if someone comes on the forums looking for advice, it won't do any good if we are posting hostile messages towards each other based on technique differences.
So basically lets just all try to be a little nicer in our posts, that way a more friendly atmosphere can be created, so if someone needs to find information or is curious about the opinions of others regarding a technique or topic, they can find that information without having to hear arguments and hostilities.

Never going to happen. People like to argue too much. They love the ability to hide behind a computor screen and act like a bully without any accountability. Things you would never dare say to someones face, you can say online. Human nature will never change and neither will this forum.

I am the same in person as I am on here. With dicussions your bound to get heated once in awhile thats the nature of the beast.

Also just because you have opposing sides does not mean one hates the other person, it simply means they do not like what was being said. After all it is all text on a screen, some people forget that and they take it all way to personaly.

The only thing you have to obide by is the T.O.S., no matter how many people want to be the happy police.

Sorry not feeling like giving out hugs today, and tomorrow doesn't look good either.

There are too many kinds of people, with to many different levels of learning and experience, to ever "get along"

It simply isn't going to happen. As one who favors behavior, I also watch and test human behavior. For instance, after I take a voluntary time out, or having been sent to mandatory time out, the same problems and disagreements occur. It sorta makes me feel unneeded, hahahahahahahaha. Like, people launch the old, your mean and think your king, but as soon as I leave, they attack the next person who tries to help and say the same dumb thing to them. So really its more the nature of the beast.

If you go to other forums you see the same thing. That is, a stratification of people. They do this over everything. ITs not really about the subject or right or wrong.

People do this from neckties to toenails. You necktie or toenail sucks, you think your better then I. All because of a different colored tie or toenail. You get the picture. Fighting is what people do.

Besides, in many cases, you have to pay to see good fights, here its free.

Let me tell you of the best fight ever. There is a fella here who decided to test behavior, boy do I like doing that(it wasn't me this time) So he took me on. He had a goal, this goal was all about human behavior. He attempted to reach levels of behavior with only the use of words, the written word. This test was the brighest most brillant behavoiral test I ever witnessed. My friends asked me, don't you hate him(for saying the things he said) I would say, nope, I do not hate him. But I sure don't like the (place any derogatory name you like here) that fall for such things.

His test included using real and unreal information, it was woven together with the skill of an artist. The point was, he convinced people to be and act in ways they knew were wrong, he also provided much needed entertainment. He also caused the conversation of many many subjects. And he did the best possible thing. Something I always try to do, make the keepers think.

How this effects this thread is, his test caused stradafication of people, some believed him, some didn't care, some polarized the other direction. You knows whats cool about that, thats what happens even if he did not do the test. "What a great test".

The result is indeed odd. The test ended and people are the same as before the test. The only difference is, there is far less entertainment and far less information being discussed. You see, conflict causes people to participate. No conflict results in little participation.

Take our friend who attacked me in a recent post, he mainly posts in conflict or achievement. He never posts for fun. How sad is that. I guess for him, conflict IS fun.

So you see, fighting is not so bad, if it causes more information. I mean if we all agreed, we would still be going by pet shop books and having indoor outdoor carpet, and tank, a UV bulb, a hide and water bowl, and a hotspot of 90F. also keeping them solitary. With the monitors would only living a year or so. Hey wait, that does sound alot like whats happening now. That sounds a lot like what the academics and biologist are saying. Hmmmmmmm I found their source of literature. See how mean I am. Cheers

I didn’t want it to end this way, but when I threw the ball in the other court, I realise the players had nothing to offer, and they vanished, what a let down!!
I agree with all you said, but would like to add, that in the old days we never disrespected each other, this is why it was such fun.

Needles to say the goal was to pass on information.

I try to read post as a newbie. I like post that make me go Hmmmmm..........
If everyone just stuck with the same old things, things would never change and nobody would be breeding these critters.
There is so much info out there. It's us, the keepers that have to decifer what is good info and bad info.
Yes, I read everything I can get my hands on.
It doesn't matter if it is written from a simple keeper, a breeder, and exporter, or a scientist.
It's all info.
