Desert Iguana's & Eastern Collared's

Breeze007 May 14, 2006 05:03 PM

Hi All

I read in a previous post about 2 different species from the same kind of environment being housed together and to my surprise there was no negative banter on this. I also saw a pic of an Eastern Collared and a Desert Iguana together.

My question is this: Is it at all suitable to house Eastern Collared's & Desert Iguana's together permenantly? I will soon be the proud mother of 2 Eastern Collared's of about 9 months old & 1 Desert Iguana of a year old. Any help/suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You :-}

with good results. Just make sure the cage is big enough so they can stay clear of one another if need be and of course multiple basking spots. I think people have more of a problem keeping animals together from different continents. For instance you would not want to keep a uromastyx and collared lizard togther. Good luck and keep us posted on how they do.

I think a 30" x 72" cage should be sufficient. I had mine in a 60" x 84" and it was a ton of room for them.
