Quick question?

nucklephil May 14, 2006 05:19 PM

My male was out baskin just now, and my female started coming out, and my male started making his whole front of his body from front legs to head, up and down, I know anoles do this during breeding season, do they do the same, but he did that like 5 times, then went next to the female, and she took off back into her hide, is there a reason for this?

could be aggressive, could be territorial, could be a mating display.
keep an eye on them and be ready to separate them if things get violent or if the female starts losing weight.

She does look like she is loosing weight, but I've seen her eat a little, but she still is freakin out when she sees me so I thought she is still stressted from shipping.

You should try two food plates. I do agree that it is aggression/mating type behavior and you should keep a close eye on it to make sure she doesn't end up injured or underweight or both. I would give Doug a call (one of the perks of buying from a reputable breeder) and see what he thinks since they were in his care previously.
