Puking Dragon

beachbeardies May 14, 2006 06:20 PM

ok so today i was doing my major cage cleaning and gave my female a bath while cleaning her cage. she did her normal business of pooping in the bath tub which she always does but then she threw up all of her greens from the morning. i have heard of this but never seen it before. any reason to be worried over this?

Many things can cause a dragon to vomit. THe water of her bath may have been too cool and that upset her stomach, she ate too much, the greens may have been a bit off, etc. I wouldn't worry about it unless she continues to vomit, in which case take her to a vet. For now, offer her a bit of non fat unsweetened fruit yogurt to help settle her stomach, check her basking temps to make sure they are high enough and pretty much leave her alone. Feed her tomorrow as normal and if she keeps it down, then it probably was something about teh bath that upset her.

If she continues to throw up, give her plenty of water, gateraid as well, to help replenish electrolites, and take her to a vet.
