Skin Condition??

jazzmachine May 14, 2006 09:02 PM

This is my daughter’s collard, he has these marks on him; at first I thought it might be old shed or basically a scab from rubbing up on one of his fake trees in his enclosure, so we removed all the substrate so we could monitor it. Now he just has slate/tiles and a fake PVS climbing apparatuses’ but it seems to have spread under his chin now. There is still one fake tree which is screwed into a base covered with fake moss. Could it be the tree or we look at something much worse?

Advise/comments please.

Thanks,

Denise

has been seen a couple times as of late . A couple of our forum buddies have dealt with this condition recently. Some sort of blister disease, and must be treated by a Vet.

I would have Her looked at as soon as ya possibly can, it only spreads/ gets worse. I say she because I can tell by your pic you have a female. She seems to be showing 2 blackish dots on either side of her vent area.

I sure hope you have her looked at and let us know how you make out, be waiting , this can be a big help to others to know what to look for and how to treat it.

Be thinking about her and hoping she will be okay soon.

I would definately go to a qualified reptile vet right away. Silvadene might help with that condition, but you can only get it from the vet.
The lizard looks a little thin also. Not much muscle on the back legs.
Might want to talk to the vet about endoparasites as well if the lizard is not captive bred.
At a minimum check into the skin condition with the vet.

definitely go to a vet. it can be fatal if left untreated and i was lucky with lucia but it started to form on her eyelids and then i found the vet who had the right medicines. i have no idea if it would have made her blind or not, but anything that close to the eyes can't be good. anyway, this is the remainder of lucia's condition. some lovely scarring. if your vet is unfamiliar with the disease, send me an email. i can give you the names of the medicines i used.
