Screen cages

safo May 15, 2006 05:06 PM

Was cleanig out my jumbo screen cage to put my sub amib in today. The thing had about 30-40 earwigs in the frame.(those little holes in all the corners, crickets seem to find these aswell)is there a better way than paper to plug up these holes? I am going to have to spray some bug killers in these channels to ensure i have killed them all, after 20 minutes with washer they still are coming out. I will be sure to wash the cage thoroughly after i do this.(i dont want to, but dont want earwigs in my house, or my chams house).

try aquarium silicone. Just squirt a little in the hole and let dry. I am going to do that with some of my screen cages. It is toxic until it is dry so allow other home for him while you do this. All is safe afterwards

get a garden hose sprayer that has lots of spray heads (fan, jet, shower, etc.) Use the jet at each corner several times and they will eventually come out. The worst that will happen is that they will die in the cage tubing but shouldn't stink for too long.
