Have any of you used this rack?

waspinator421 May 15, 2006 07:11 PM

I am considering purchasing a sterilite rack from Animal Plastics, and am wondering if any of you use, or have used their racks? Any positives/negatives to share?

Thanks!

I have a 45 unit (iris) hatchling rack. I bought it in August of 2004 and overall I am very pleased with it.

Plus side: SUPER easy to assemble, heat already wired into it, and very sturdy.

Minus side: Bottom row of three shoe boxes bind very badly and as a result the water is ALWAYS spilling in those three tubs & also it is very heavy.

I plan to buy some more baby racks and will either buy their's or Visions. I have two of the new Vision racks - one of the CB-70 racks and one of the 15 quart racks that hold 20 tubs. These racks are AWESOME! they are easy to assemble, come with casters, and are open on the sides and back. They are selling a couple of baby racks now as well.

One other thing - if you do buy the rack from Animal Plastics I would advise that you buy the Iris rack - the tubs are very clear and very high quality. Worth the extra 50 cents or so a piece compared to sterilite boxes

Just my two cents...

I recently got the Iris CB110 size rack they offer.Bigger than the CB70. Really nice size.I also have their Sterlite #1754. I recently got a smaller quarantine rack from them. For an inexpensive plastic rack they are very well made and thought out in my opinion. They also offer casters now. Good luck.

I have been using his racks for about a year now and just bought two more. They are sturdy, dependable and comes with the tubs included as well. I think they are at a very good price too. www.jasons-jungle.com

Best of luck to you

i built this rack over the winter to house my kings and milks, it was not that cheap to build.. between the wood, Rubbermaid tubs, binder clips, heat tape, power strip, wheels, stain, polyurathane, glue, backing, wire and plugs it was prob around $450. But, this rack is built to my specifications and it will last forever!
