I doubt we'll see any of those actually
Those that own indigos and watch 'em eat are pretty dang careful about avoiding that.

I know several long time keepers, 20 plus years, that have been on the receiving end of such a bite inside of the past year, self included and my first one to boot. Not to mention, I probably see more Drymarchon feed in a single week than most folks see in their entire life times.
Just never a camera around when you need one, as I incurred just a quick bite and release during feeding, but it left a three inch, bone exposing laceration on my left ring finger. I know another highly experienced Dry keeper received over 25 sutures from his experience involving an extremely large unicolor cribo too, just never a camera around! ;0)
Best regards,
Jeff

Good lord. Maybe I'll stay lucky LOL. For now this guys mellow. He has his moments of course, but Ive been pretty good at reading his moods (spent most of my life around snakes). Here's a couple of the most recent pics of mine. More to be seen at the link too.

Speaking of "never a camera". Wouldn't it be interesting to see some live feed vids by indigos ? I know it's generally discouraged, and not often done, but still. Maybe a future project for some of us

Most of mine would require slow-motion footage, as they devour their prey lightening fast and I doubt regular fiootage could capture it! ;0)

See, now you say that and it makes us want to see it even MORE LOL. Do you have a camera to get a vid that'll go into a .wmv type file ? Lets get some vid projects in the works. I'll get some if someone else will too

I had a 6' blacktail that struck at food and hit my finger and one of the few teeth that did get me split my pointer fingernail in half and almost to the cutical...
That is a captive hatched male that was taken out of his cage with a snake hook. That was not a feeding response bite. He will do that every time any time. He knows what he is doing.

By the reduced amount of blood and relatively superficial wounds, that was not a feeding response bite! I have incurred both defensive and feeding response bites, the only two "Dry" bites I have ever incurred, within the past year and the difference is night and day!
Best regards,
Jeff

Dang. Crazy animal
I had a cave rat (E. T. Ridleyi) that would do that. Beautiful animal and all but evil
I didn't mind the bites when he was little but he got bigger and I got tired of 'em.
Anyways, that bite pic I thought would be cool to combine 'em into one pic together like that.
I do pretty well at avoiding getting bitten (has to do with understanding snakes body language I guess). I hope I can always avoid a bite by the indigo. Pit bulls of the snakeworld
It could happen though.
