found something charlie doesnt like

captotterboy May 16, 2006 01:10 PM

I finnaly found something (besides his cage being misted) charlie doesnt like. I was cleaning his cage when i heard him crawling towards my arm. This is normal, and his colors dont show agression or stress (no really dark colors or really light colors) so i usually let him crawl up to my shoulders and sit there while i rummage around his cage (trying to get leftover crickets and droppings). When i was done i turned my head and mentioned to charlie that he had to get off my shoulder now. Well, i must have been a little loud because charlie did not like being talked to in that manner. I had to switch to a whisper and appologize to get him off my shoulder and back into his cage. When i started talking to him he changed to irritiation colors, when i stoped he went back to normal.

the lesson learned is dont be try to order around a chameleon on your shoulder, because if he doesnt like it, he has the potential of taking off your ear. Charlie let me off with a warning this time. whew.

lol! You probabaly startled him and/or had your face too close for comfort! Cyrus will do his whole puffy-look-how-big-I-am thing if I startle him like that. Guess he put you on your place!

Yes, the changes after shedding can be pretty neat. Iwould guess even more so with a male. How old is he now?

Hey
usually he doesnt mind my face being close to him. When he perches on my shoulder somtimes i have to stop him from climbing up my lips when i turn to look at him. I think he just doesnt like to vibrations being that close to my pie-hole.

I belive he is 11 months now. I have to check, but i think thats right. He has been misserable all day, shedding and all. I caught him doing a dog scratch thing trying to get the skin off. Its kinda funny.
