I have two males living in an outdoor pond and one of them has begun to shed it's scutes. Is there anything I need to keep and eye out for while this is happening?

Yea while you're at it watch the grass grow
...
Of course not what would you. Maybe take the scutes out every so often since I doubt they ever go away from the water. I saw my turtle chewing on a big scute the other day - I laughed so hard. He couldn't eat through it or swallow it all so maybe he was just testing it.
Thanks, sarcasm and all.
I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a higher risk of shell rot or anything else I needed to watch for. I've had them for about three months now and I want to make sure I provide them the best care possible. Thanks again for the help.

Nope. They should come off just fine. Mother Nature designed em that way.
Great that you have your sliders outside. They do best that way.
