The Striped Applegate is doing great!

This snake was produced by Jason Nelson of Envy Reptiles and now resides here at my place. It was always a good feeder, and I fed it often. He was in town this week and stopped by, we had never sexed it. It is a male and is already about 30 inches long, nice for a 2005! Hopefully he will be a busy man next season. He has some cool triple het females waiting. With any luck I will see a few of these pip here this year, even 1 more would be very gratifying Tom Stevens

Very nice! I don't think I've ever seen a not-even-year-old gopher 30", that seems really big. The young pair I have are only around that size and they are '04s, but they have never been great feeders - occassionally they will skip a feeding one week and then eat just fine the next.

I keep a lot of Getula, and I feed them a lot and they can grow outrageously fast. I fed this snake a lot, but not out of hand...it never was too much fatter than his girth on empty. I like to feed lots of small food offerings instead of large ones. He never regurged, shed frequently and just grew like a weed. I have a trio of other 05s and they're half his size, but now they're eating more fequently and pooping like......well they poop a lot! LOL They'll be big in no time Take it easy Tom Stevens
