Alright for everyone who helped me with my friend's eggs I have some good and bad news! Good first...one egg has hatched, and the second was in the process when he checked. The first baby looks great, fat and healthy little guy. The second I have not been recently updated on. These two were laid I believe the third week in March (actual date not sure, can't remeber what date he said.). And now the bad... these two that hatched are of the fourth clutch laid, meaning, that the first three are probably all infertile. Here is a list of the dates laid and then the dates what should have been hatch dates at 60 days:
1st clutch laid Feb. 18th: assumed hatch date April 12th
2nd clutch laid Feb. 25th: assumed hatch date April 19th
3rd clutch laid March 4th: assumed hatch date April 30th
The male for these three clutches was taken out, and replaced with a new male, however I am not sure if this did any good because of the fact that the females retain sperm. If this makes a difference, the male was rotated out with a new one approximately beginning of March. I want to say that two new clutches were laid the third and fourth week in March, and the first of the two "new" is the one that we are talking about hatching. Well, I think that covers most of it. I will keep everyone posted on his and my eggs, which are due to hatch around June 6th (at 60 days). Mine might be a bit longer because of the lower temps.
Thanks again to everyone for their input and advice! Take care!
