Bothersome shed...

Well,

I was in the Bahamas for 5 days scuba-diving on this little 'mini-internship' dealie and I came back to find Cobalt went through a nearly perfect shed. I'm so relieved, as he had been losing his color; after this shed I have never seen him so radiant, I'll have to update with pics soon. Anyway, he has this little tid-bit of skin attached to the nub of his nose and it's just been hanging there for the past few days. It's so frustrating to me too! LOL. I really wanna' scrub it off with a warm wash cloth, but why bother when it will come off naturally? It looks like he may have a little difficult getting it off, so what should I do? Thanks guys...

Usually when a chameleon has trouble shedding it has something to do with the humidity in the enclosure. If the humidity is inadequate there may be problems with shedding. However, it sounds like what's going on with your cham is not that big a deal. I make a habit of spraying the plant in my enclosure and my cham at least once a day with a product called 'Bio-Mist' which is made by a company called T-Rex. It helps add a bit of humidity to the enclosure. Even if you don't choose to use it regularly it comes in very handy during shedding. Try spraying your cham twice a day with it when sheds occur. It usually does a good job in getting rid of those tiny, annoying bits of shed skin that refuse to leave.
Hope this helps.
Kevin.
