Question Regarding All White/Dry Feces

Dan6971 May 17, 2006 10:26 PM

"Fluffy" hadn't eliminated in like 4 weeks/4 meals.

He finally did and it was very chalky/dry feces. He also eliminated in his hide rock and was laying on top of it.

Is it odd that he waited so long to eliminate, it was all white, and very dry?

i would think he needs more water? this is my exp with my 7 foot JCP. he has dry urates occasionally. i think its becasue he doesn't drink that much. not sure. but i provide water 24/7 for him all the time.

he also has yet to eleminate anything worth while after 2 jumbo and 2 large rat meals. so i think his body is using up every bit of the food since he went on a hunger strike over the winter. plus i notice mine doesn't eleminate unless he is more active. right after his last 2 rats he went into shedding. soon to shed anytime now and then i think it will all come out.

i've also had him "go" and lay on top of it. i just have to wash him off a bit if he does. that stuff is nasty.

I leave him water 24/7 also - if he doesn't drink, I can't force him.

I've only seen him drink once.

I guess that if he doesn't need to "go" - he won't.

The white things are just urates. They come out soft, but they dry out very soon and become hard. Sounds like they dried out before you got to them. That's completely normal, though...your snake looks to be well hydrated.
