Reason for throw-up

Th.Ahlberg Jul 31, 2003 03:30 AM

Hi. I have had my corns for almost ten years. Female, male, and theirs first hatchling.

The male have not had any problems with eating medium-sized rats before. But on monday, I gave both the male and the youngster one each of thawed rats.

Yesterday, wednesday, after two days, he threw it up. Can anybody tell me why? I'm afraid I find him dead when I come home today...

I guess it is natures way of telling that the rat was bad, or not to cold, but the young has not showed any of the sort.

I surfed round, and ended up at www.boa-constrictors.com where I read that they often regurgitate if the food is a bit too big, or the food comes too often before they have digested and defecated the last meal. Some of this must definitively be the right answer.

or maybe he just wasnt warm enough to digest it

because if im not mistaken, that if they arent warm enough they will regurgetate

too ot
too cold
too scared
foreign smells/toxic
bacteria
worms/parasite/etc
too fat.....no need to feed big meals anymore......
older....same as before......smaller meals......

lots of reasons.........

a 10 year old 4 foot corn needs maybe one mouse a week to live.....they are full of fat.....female maybe more at times...male...definately needs less food....

I lost all my pics...(new computer)....

maybe still in my website....go to misc pics?...look for fatty deposits......adult corn......full of fat....

JYReptiles.com

good luck....let him rest for 2 weeks.......then feed one mouse...
