first hatchlings of the season

draybar May 18, 2006 06:20 PM

I had posted this in a post below but it was under the header internet problems so I wasn't sure if anyone other then Cochran
actually saw it.
The first eggs of the season are hatching.
The mom was a snow, Glacier
the dad was an amel motley, Gimli, who turned out to be het anery.
So far 6 amels and 4 snows have hatched.
So that would be 6 amels het anery het motley
and 4 snows het motley
The pictures are a little blurry (hurry-up shots) but here is one of the amels and one of the snows

you know, when you were the first to announce all the breedings and then all the egg laying, I knew you would be first with the hatchlings. But its still killing me. I am soooo jealous. I want my babies to hatch!!!
Hey Jimmy, on your web site you have all the hook up dates and when the eggs are expected to hatch. I noticed one snake hooked up the day after another, but was not expected to hatch for like a week or two after the first snake. Is there a reason?
That may sound kinda confusing. do you get what I am asking?

Nice babies by the way. I saw the previous post and wanted to tell you to post it by itself, but haven't had time. Hey, I just had comcast problems last night. I wonder if I have snake babies hatching!!! lol

It's always good to see pics of the "grandkids"! Keep them coming and let me know how they're doing, Jimmy.

That little snow really reminds me of the motley snow male that sired your Gimli. I got him in a "Mom 'n Pop" pet shop several years ago. That was back when snow motley was about as "out there" a combination you could find, and the guy sold him to me as "an albino" for $30...what a deal!

Congrats!

Hey Darrin, or should I say "Gramps" ...lol
I was looking at a couple of the snows this morning and the markings look more motley then normal.....but the bellies are definitely checkered.
It will be interesting to see how they mature.
If I am able to keep any that is..I hope to keep at least one of the snows and one of the amels but you never know.
I will keep you posted on their progress as long as I can.
