I thought some of ya'll might like to see this fellow. This is a juvinile Bald Eagle that we transfered to the wild life center. That's one of the center workers holding him. Look at the size of his head Sorry about the pic being big.

Those things are gorgeous. We have two nesting pairs near where I live. What happened that wound him up in rehab?

He was found on the ground in Wheeler in Alabama. He allowed himself to be captured and was lethargic. He was kept overnight by the rehabber who caught him up. He perked up after some fluids and we took him to B'ham. They don't know why he was in that condition.He was transfered down to Aurburn, and they sometimes forget to update on how they're doing. I figure even if he can't fly free again he'll ave a place. Though I do hope he can fly free.

Beautiful Eagle
I was in Alaska a few years ago visiting a friend. She was showing me around one day. We were driving by the fishing town Seward I think it is and I saw a Bald Eagle eating a fish just 6 feet away from me. It didn't fly away when we drove by and stopped to snap a pic it was so cool.

I have yet to see one in the wild. They're still fairly rare here. I hope to one day look up and see one pass overhead. Our land has become the very outside border of ones territorry, but with all the land they cover it maybe awhile. My dad's seen it though.
