Crusty ratsnake

beowulf May 19, 2006 04:30 PM

I received a black rat and an albino black rat from some lady, and I'm thinking they weren't well cared for. The black one looks healthy, but the albino is all rough and it looks like brownish/yellow scabs or crust running all down his spine. I put him in a big water bowl and he stayed in there all through the night. He also lets out these weak hisses, like a breathing problem. He's been eating good though. Any ideas about this? Thanks!

I don't have the internet at home yet, but when I do I can't wait to post pics! They are my first rats, in addition to 3 boas and a burm, but the rats are the most interesting to watch. Very cool animals.
