We caught a snake in Central Texas in a wooded area near a lake. The snake was almost 6 feet long and had a pattern that had some yellowish color to it. I have a picture, but am not sure how to attach it to this message.

Without a picture, it's only a guess but I'd put my money on a Texas Rat snake. See http://www.houstonherp.com/TxRat.html
