My second favorite Mojave "cross"

EmberBall May 19, 2006 06:35 PM

Ok, my first favorite Mojave cross is the Super Paradox Hypo Mojave produced by the Sutherland's. Anyone who has seen it in person will agree, it is one amazing snake. Up until a few days ago, my second favorite Mojave cross was the Hypo Mojave, again, produced by Dan and Colette, and again, an amazing animal. So, a few days ago my Ember Mojave, or Mojave cross female, we still have not proven out her genetics for sure, shed out and looks spectacular. Extremely light, getting lighter with each shed, kind of a burgundy or cinnamon color to her, simply an awesome animal, and so different from a normal Mojave. Maybe I am biased, the Super Paradox Hypo Mojave still reigns supreme in my book, but now I have a new second place snake, pushing the Hypo Mojave to number three for me. These two pics were taken today, on cooled off warm concrete, the snakes loved it.

OK, there may be a tie for second, between the Ember Mojave and the Hypo Mojave, I love the Hypo Mojave! I really hope my two Mojaves, which are poss het Hypos, prove out!

Kyle, not really sure what that means...but if it makes you happy By the way, bring your two females down to Temecula.

lol, I figured know one would know what I was talking about, after I posted that. In all John Cusack movies he has a top ten and it just sounded similar. Anyways, best of luck on proving out that special snake of yours.

Now that is a serious mohave cross.

yours is nice too, but it's hard to see from your pics how it's much different from some of the really nice mohaves I've seen.

I'm sure it is, but pics never show how nice they really are.

I honestly forgot the Crystal was a Mojave cross. Yeah, have seen the Crystal in person and it is amazing too. OK, my list is going to have to be redone now, thanks!

Reguarding my pics, if you cannot tell that one is a Mojave and one is something special, well....

Last pic is the mom of both Mojaves.

Thanks Brandon, I am very excited about the Mojaves and the Embers. This year, we should know if the Mojave cross mom and the Ember mom are the same morph. As different as the Mojaves look now, as babies, I could not tell them apart, good thing Eric Sandoval has a good eye! He knew right away we had "something." That female Mojave cross is probably my favorite morph in my collection right now.

Dave,

That Ember Mojave is pretty cool! I can't wait to see what happens with that double homozygous situation. I'd say it would be SUPER confusing!

Keep posting pics of this animal as it grows!

Good Luck!

I think it will be fun to see what happens, thanks for the support. The next few years should be interesting to see what happens with the Ember and the Mojave crosses. The Embers are pretty much staying the same as far as coloring, but the Mojave cross female is getting lighter and lighter, she is really amazing.
