this lack of rain in the big bend area really stinks. i will be cancelling my trip to big bend and saving my money to go in the fall. i was really looking forward to the break. i wish all of you luck who will be out there this late may. maybe i will sneak off to del rio for one or two nights, troy w.

I know what you mean-we considered postponing our trip as well. But after looking at the map of precipitation for the last 7 days, you can see that, while some areas are almost bone dry, a lot of others have received anywhere from .25-over an inch of rain in that period. This includes parts of Brewster, Presidio, Jeff Davis and Terrel counties, among others. Not exactly a deluge, but I've caught snakes in worse conditions!

So we're going to roll the dice and go-we might be chasing the showers if any appear, though.....
