I convinced one of my students that he had time to hike a little after school and before he had to pick his date up for prom! That's dedication!!

We found a king snake, two gopher snakes, a racer, and two Southern Pacifics (mating) all in about 2.5 hrs. When we got back to car he had bloody hands and the sweet scent of snake poo as he went to get ready for the big night. I'm curious which he will be more excited to see on Monday...The prom picture, or the picture with his first racer!!

That's a really nice looking Cal King Jake. I might be coming home to visit my mother on her B-day, Aug.18. Maybe we could plan a trip up to PV. I'll get in touch with you. Thanks for the photo's.

I'll be ready - I'm sure my dad will want to go too...we get back from Sierra Challenge on the 13th.

I usually only see Southern Pacifics that time of year.

Keep an eye out, you might see some Zonata, Mountain Kings, in King's Canyon. Man, that trip was one of the highlights of my life and you can tell your Dad Thanks too.
