Foggy eyes on Spadefoots PLEASE READ

creepypiercedchk May 20, 2006 01:28 AM

I recently ordered 5 spadefoot toads from Nature Coast Exotics. I have ordered toads from other stores before, but never have I received toads in such poor condition. All five toads came in a tiny container, with wood chips. One of them was all cut up. I don't think she's going to make it. The other four have fogged up eyes, and one of them has started bleeding from the eyes. I don't know what to do for them. If anyone has any advice for foggy eyes please tell me. I believe the female is already a lost cause. However, if nothing else, NEVER BUY FROM NATURE COAST EXOTICS. I am horrified by the condition in which the toads were sent in and the condition of the toads themselves. This is clearly unacceptable

That is awful, I will make sure never to buy from there. As far as the cloudy eyes it's probally a skin shed where they didn't quite get it off there eyes. make sure they have a big water dish or something and try to hand feed them cause sometimes it's hard if they can only see out of one eye. good luck.
