soft screen for cages

jeune18 May 20, 2006 11:35 AM

i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find soft mesh or soft screen, sort of like what the apogee(spelling?) reptariums are made out of, but in like a roll form. i don't want metal screen at all on the sides of the cage but i have no idea where to find the soft screen to get my dream cages started.

thanks so much

Fiberglass window screen is available a most hardware stores in rolls up to 50' I believe most is 48" wide or less. That would be my first choice.

check out "internet mesh". we got the idea in the ultimate iguana handbook in the author's section for constructing a habitat and it seems to be perfect. it's EXTREMELY strong yet soft enough for me to rub my nose on over and over (common herp behavior). it comes in many different varieties (size holes, thickness of the mesh material, etc. etc.). i'll have to post later with the web address, as you can imagine doing a google search for mesh CALLED "internet" was a dissaster.

we went with product # XV-1170, which is the specific product recommended in the book i mentioned. great for a larger lizard but a small snake would need a tighter mesh.

well it is going to go on my cages for my uros and my collared lizards. i might need it a little smaller than for an iguana

thanks to both of you for all the help
