I say, tell them what they are doing wrong, but do NOT buy them. By buying them, they think they have a good seller and just buy more to treat badly. You could even print out a care sheet and take it into the store and hand it over to the manager.... I have done that before hahahaha ... You get some comments and a dirty look, but when you go back a week later, they usually have changed their methods of care

You can always call your local humane society and report it too..Find out what they are going to do about it (their procedure), instead of just reporting and hanging up. Let them know you will be calling back to follow up to see what was done.

its privately owned.
I would just talk to the owner and tell them the little bearded dragon need UVB lighting and smaller crickets etc...then give him a day or two to act on it. If he doesn't or just brushes you off when you explain the proper care, then I would call your local human society...Also provide them with a copy of bearded dragon care sheets so they can see you are not making trouble for nothing, that you know what you are talking about. Most humane societies only really deal with cats and dogs so wouldn't know about the proper care of reptiles. (bigger cities may have more knowledgeable staff, but most concentrate on common pets). You could also contact your local reptile society too, they may support your cliams of mistreatment of this dragon. It all depends on how far you want to go.
