I am confused about this......

nymph May 20, 2006 08:42 PM

Ok, Nigel is fine now, acting like his normal self. I called the breeder and she said that the size he is now from the time I got him is good growth. Navi is doing exceptional. But why does Nigel do this every time he sheds. The breeder said that it is ok. She has seen chams and geckos do this. Since the shedding skin is tight, they seem weak because of loss of muscle control. Since the skin is tight they don't want to move a lot. Once it cracks and they shed they are ok. So, what does everyone else think of this?? BTW, can anyone recommend a good herp vet close to Frederick Maryland?? Thanks.

glad he is doing better! The tight skin thing sounds strange on the one hand, but I have to say that wehn my caterpillars shed they can remain stationary for a couple days. There are some differences, but it is all I have to offer

Do you know Jenna at Prism Chameleons? She lives in MD and would be a great person to ask, I am sure! Not sure if I can give you the link but you can figure out the URL

There are also the vet links on the cham research page
