Kentucky snake rescue

tko75 May 20, 2006 09:39 PM

I just got back from a week of fishing on Kentucky Lake. One night at my mom and dads house on the lake I noticed my mom getting a shovel(she hates snakes). I went outside and seen this little guy on her back patio. I stopped her from killing it and transfered it down to the woods unharmed.
I was just wondering if someone could identify it for me.
This was my first "save" and Im pretty proud, hope the little guy makes it!

I have come to the conclusion that there is no cure for snake addiction!

Looks like an adult smooth earth snake. KY has both easterns and westerns so not sure where your location would fall under as to which it might be.

We were actually in western Ky about 40 miles southeast of Paducah. It was only 8 inches long thats why i thought it was a hatchling. Thanks
