Hi everyone, I recently got myself a beautiful juvenile 12' Arabian. So far it's docile, laid-back and has accepted snacks of house lizards readily, as you can see from the pic. I realize few people have any information on this species, and I hope some of you who have kept this snake before would share with me your experiences with it ie feeding, temperament, substrate etc. Thanks!

why are you feeding it lizards? they will usually take mice without any problems. scott erycine1@aol.com

I live in a tropical and humid country, and house geckos are far more available here than mice, seeing as how they can be found, literally, all over the house when the lights go off! You are right though, the few pinkies I gave it are no problem with this snake.

understandable with the geckos then. i kept mine on fine sand without any problems for a long time. now i have them on shredded newspaper and they are just as happy.

Shredded paper for easier upkeep? Will do... has yours ever displayed any defensive behaviour/bitten you? Mine seems too gentle to be true...

easy maintanence and also lightweight for the rack. mine have never bitten, but will sometimes jerk and jab the tail tip into my hand.
