Yesterday in NY--Man, was it chilly!

Matt Harris May 21, 2006 10:25 AM

Even though the temps barely got into the 50's, we(NYSnakeGuy) and I had success. Found 3 timbers and 3 ringnecks. The first two timbers were found out fully exposed among some rocks, yet it was overcast, drizzling and the air temps were 52F when the first was found and 48F when the second was found. The last snake was found jammed under a rock. The pics are of the first and last snakes found(both black phase). The 2nd, a yellow phase, escaped under the rocks before photos could be taken.

Last snake, in situ...notice the infected left eye..likely a rodent bite!

Full body shot escaping under deeper cover.

Very cool (pun not intended) Matt. Good luck and safe trip.
