Put them together?

okreptilerescue May 21, 2006 03:01 PM

I have a reptile rescue and I very rarely put snakes together in a cage but these guys I've had for a few years and were my pets before we started the rescue. The rescue is booming now and I need to empty out a cage to make room for another. I have one redtail that is probably a little over 5 foot hes about 5 or 6 inches around (im estimating) and I have another that is about 3 foot long and aobut 2 inches around. We've recently finished the garage conversion and moved all the bigger snakes like the burms and retics out there. We have a beautiful custom cage built for the burms in our livingroom. I'm planning on putting a 'herd' of redtails in that (its 8 ft tall, 4 ft wide and 2 ft deep) The other redtails are about the same size as the bigger one (about 5 ft, one is 7 and one is 8) but they're still in quarantine and will be for 3 months yet. I'm wondering if it would be ok to put the one RT in with the smaller RT or will my smaller girl get eaten?

it's possible the smaller might be eaten. Also a 4' X 2' cage of any height is a sized cage for 1 boa. Boas are not arboreal.

Good luck,
Caden
