This is Craven, my wierd patterned/colored corn snake, with her eggs. I bred her back to her dad, so the F2 generation should, hopefully, be weird...I'll reply to the post and put up some more pictures of her. I can't figure out what kind she is. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a blurry shot of her head and the rest of her body. I've never seen a chocolate looking corn before. No one around STL at the herp shows can tell me what she is. Ah well, I like her...

she is very pretty, I would like to get a pair of her babies.

What color is her belly?

Her belly is pretty much white, like a striped would be. It starts with a muted brown, but changes to pure white about half way down. This is the best picture I have of her belly.

There are definately some stripe/motley genes in the mix.... which makes me wonder if the stripe gene doesn't have something to do with the "vanishing" pattern. In answer to your question, your snake looks like what I imagine a natural vanishing pattern would look like.

As we say in Missouri, "I ain't goin back to Missouri!"

Vanishing pattern corns are the result of selectively breeding broken striped/incomplete striped corns. Most have a bit of pattern, especially on the neck. As the snake ages, however, the pattern and snake's background color have a tendency to blend together - resulting in a unicolored-looking snake.

Hey, just an off the wall question. How many of her eggs are good? It looks like a slug on top and maybe some others. It could just be me, or just the photo. Good luck.

11 good eggs, 11 bad. Not bad for her first breed, and the dad was striped, so that's low sperm count anyway.

We'll see what hatches, then I'll talk about selling babies. Who knows, if I get half that looks like her, maybe I have a new genetic morph that needs naming. No one can give me a solid answer on what she is...
