Would roaches burrow into cypress mulch (I use that for my Chinese Cave geckos).
I am thinking of culturing Orange Heads or Orange Spots, but I am concerned they might not get eaten.

They are going to hide. They will come out and look for food and water, but there main goal in life is to hide so they don't become your pets next meal. With the roaches we discussed earlier, since they don't climb you can put them in a food dish and they will have no where to go. So much better than those damn jumping crickets. Remember this only applies to the non-climbers I mentioned below.

I have several species of roaches and I've noticed that the orange heads are the most "daring". They are most often out in plain view during daylight and nighttime hours. I would bet that they'd be better as feeders if you were concerned about them hiding. I haven't tried to feed mine out yet because my colony is too small to experiment with. Also, they need to drink so they won't stay hidden for long if your enclosure isn't very humid.
