I'm really itching to get a green anaconda and am still searching. I have contacted several places about animals they have and they all end up being wild caught or ouchy animals. This is getting irritating. LOL

Take your time. They are a bit different from other boas.
I suggest looking for a CB Male. They stay a lot smaller than the girls unless that is what you are into. I personally think that the gals get too big to really handle in the long run.
And if you don't handle the animal regularly she will get shy and may one day put you in the ER if you are lucky. Getting hit by a 16 foot anaconda is a real problem. I have a male and he is sweet and small and beautiful. I am a Family Practitioner and see some bad animal bites, so.........
Where to look:
NERD has them often, Kelly Haller is famous for his CB's but you may have to wait. Email him to see what he is up to. Kelly is a very nice guy and has helped me and others with all kinds of trouble shooting. (see my recent feeding issues on the site here for the threads).
Finally, look at the KINGSNAKE.COM Classifieds under
"Other Boas". Exotic Pets in Las Vegas has some CB's now that they claim are CB. Captive Bred Reptiles in Col. used to breed them but I cant find them online today. They provide a lot of Greens for Zoos. They have a nice orange hue to them and are well tempered similar to Kellys'.
Good luck and do some research for caging etc. NERD.COM has a care sheet on them too online and Kelly Haller has a great article in a Reptiles back issue for further education. It is well worth obsessing a bit on this before the animal arrives!!!
Good Luck My Friend!

Thanks for the info. I did finally locate one at CBR. She is in the five to six foot range and will be arriving this afternoon. I'm really very excited about this. Now I need to find out all that I can on these animals. I'm used to retics...this will be a bit different.
I am sure you will be happy! CBR have very beautiful anacondas. Nice orange hues offset the black markings making them very unique. I can send you a copy of Kelly Hallers article on keeping them. It is the best one there is so far. I have a home copier so it is easy. Send me your address to my email (t_dobrov@yahoo.com) if you want it. His method of not keeping a body of water for swimming in makes keeping these animals feasible. I too have raised retics and love them, but anacondas are different. Slow metabolisms (do NOT overfeed her, she will be big anyway, trust me!), heat gradients etc are all key and not hard to do.
Let me know
Cheers
Tom
