Rescued Turtle returned...

Hey i was at a park a few weeks ago looking @ birds and flowers when i almost stepped on a red-ear. It was very small and not around any body of water. I thought that it didnt look so good so i took it home for the week where i fed it and nurtured it a little. I took it back this past weekend to a part of the park where that was a swamp and a larger red-ear. My questions are what are the chances of survival? should i have taken it away from its natural habitat in the first place? SHould i have kept it longer? Thanks guys. Please dont feel that i took it on impulse, i felt sorry for it since it looked dehydrated and was out in an are w/o water. Thanks again!

Keeping it as little as possible is the best chance for survival.

If you find a RES so far from water, his old home probly dried up, and he was looking for a bigger place anyway.

Thanks for your post. He was far but near the grass. And from what i hear, this park has RES all over. But i am happy that it is back home in nature. Thanks again.
