more of my thayeri

Brad Alexander May 23, 2006 02:31 AM

I tried to play around with longer exposures on some of these snakes but between breathing and just not staying still, it was much too difficult. I won't be trying that out anytime soon. It's hard enough getting these guys to sit still long enough for a quick shot, trying to do a 5 to 8 second exposure, forget it. I managed to get a couple of them to sit still for a longer exposure but several of these are done with the pop of a flash. The goal with longer exposure was the desire to have good depth of field with ambient light.

This is more of a gray snake. The gray didn't show up real well.

You can see a bit of blur in that upper coil from her breathing. Don't they know they are supposed to hold their breath and stay still while we shoot them?

I posted a picture of this one recently.

Must have moved his head in this one.

Same snake as above.

Russ, this is one that I bought from you in 2004

Russ, here is another one of your '04 animals.

More to come.....eventually

Brad,
Cool pics. Are some of the 2005 models from my stock too? I think I recognize some of those head patterns. I have a pair of 2004s I held back and the male has turned into this really neat lime green but it's hard to capture the color in a photo...one of those you have to see in person to appreciate. He came from my high yellow pairing. Of those 2004s what was their primary color as hatchlings?

Russ, yeah, a couple of those are the 2005 models, without looking back at the pictures, I think the first two are 2005.

Beautiful thayeri Brad! I like the second one down....the gray specimen. I need to get a lichen covered rock too for photos. Hope business is robust at the Pizza Barn.

Great snakes Brad. They have a nice look to them. I like the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ones the most. But all are nice. Mike

Wow Brad,

You really have that camera mastered. I may have to get one of those SLR digital camera's yet.

I don't know what's better, the quality of your pics or the subject you are shooting.

BTW all of those are some awesome thayeri. I like your MSP the best but that's just me. I also like the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 9th.
