Size differences between Varanus acanthurus

Nakor Jul 31, 2003 10:43 AM

Hy,

I have been looking for an adult male Varanus acanthurus for quite a long time now. Today someone offered me a male sized 20,87 inches (53 cm). My female (Mt. Isa) is only 14,17 inches (36 cm). Both monitors are nearly the same age. Bothe bron in 2001.

Do you think they will get along with each other? It is the difference in the size that is concerning me.
Can you guess where the large male is from?

Thanks a lot for your answers 'cause I am bit in a hurry for making a decicion to buy or not.

Hy,

thanks alot for the tipp. But I am from Germany. Would be too much trouble to ship the monitor to Europe.

Wish I was in the USA. Seems like paradies for monitor enthusiasts.

Greetings from Germany,

Nakor

They may or may not get along. They all have individual personalities. Your best bet would have been to get 2 as babies and introduce them. Try it but be prepared if they need separated with a second cage.
