Getting an ATB to start on pinks...

pweaver May 23, 2006 01:57 PM

I bought a pair of '06 ATBs recently. I've been trying to get them started on pinks but haven't had much luck. So far I've tried live, live scented w/skink, f/t, and brainded. I've tried both leaving the items in the container overnight as well as tease feeding. Both will strike at the prey and even bite it when teased, but aren't interested in eating it. Any suggestions?

Try feeding at night. A defensive strike is normal during the daytime. At night they should go into huntingfeeding mode. Also heating the pinky warmer then your body temp. may help on the feeding response. Give this a try, and good luck!
