Does my Collard need Weight Watchers?

wyocuttergirl May 23, 2006 02:53 PM

Hi! Been awhile since I've posted. Snappy is doing really, really well. I'm wondering if she's doing too well. I've cut her off at 10 medium sized crickets a day and she still acts hungry. She has a porky little belly that sticks out on either side of her and under her. I think she's even getting a fatty deposit under her chin. Is there such a thing as feeding her too much? She'll eat anything you put in front of her.

And just for fun, we caught a miller-moth yesterday and put it in with her. She loved it!! She was jumping around to catch it and in a matter of seconds it was gone. Can't believe I'm excited to catch more millers in the house!!

Any help with how much is optimal to feed her would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Deb

i let my guys eat whatever they want and prefer mine to be on the chubby side. they very rarely overeat and the few times that they have they just threw up the crickets.

here is ivan the girl in her fat prime. she has been a bit skinny lately and i am working on fixing that, the quality of the photo is bad, it was pre-digital camera days

Thanks Vonnie! Snappy isn't that big, but close. And we haven't thrown them up yet, so I guess we're alright.

My boys are really enjoying her eventhough she's still not very tame and I'm the only one who handles her. She gets so wound up when you handle her I'm worried about giving the poor thing a heart attack!

Hope all is well!
