Good girl gets a treat.

the_Ox May 23, 2006 05:41 PM

I admit I am a tad juvenile when it comes to giving this girl treats. She just laid a dozen eggs for me and still is thick, strong like a boa, and healthy looking. She was such a good girl, I thought I would give her some extra special treats. After all, reptile and bird eggs are a decent portion of kingsnake diet in the wild.

corn snake egg.

mmmm

she freaked over these, there were five small bad eggs in one of our corn snake's clutches. Once she sniffed one, she was taking them from the tongs so fast I was having a hard time getting any pics. She's also eaten birds and loves snake (only dor). I really believe that a varied diet can only be a good thing. Of course I take as many precautions as possible when feeding roadkill.

let's hope she doesn't get addicted to bad eggs!

I always get at least one response like that when I post pics of kings eating a natural varied diet.

I can't understand where that comes from. A healthy snake in an environment that has good temp/humidity choices is not going to starve itself out of spite toward its keeper!

what?? i said nothing about your snake starving itself in spite of you. it was just a response. don't take it so seriously. i responded in a good tone. you obviously understand the potential there if you're so offended by it. whatever dude.

lol

Whoa, not offended, just curious....lol

I have done that most years with the bad eggs. At least they don't go to waste. I also feed all my culls to the hatchling kings. Any kinked babies end up being a jump start to a monster king. It seems that the egg yolk in the kinked hatchlings is like steroids. HAHA.
