Finally Tripod has arrived!

veiledbrian May 23, 2006 06:15 PM

I adopted a male veiled from Chameo that arrived this morning. He has three legs and a noticeably broken, but healed, back leg. He seems in really good health otherwise. He was just neglected by his original owners. Oh and I named him Tripod.

He is so cute!! I think that is really nice that you took him in. I am sure he will have a great home with you. I am glad that you were able to get him away from his former owners before something worse happened to the poor guy. But I guess this just goes to show that there are extremes in life. You have people on here who want to know everything to do perfectly down to the cricket food, and food supplier. Then you have people like them who treat their animals like free loading nuicances. It's sad really. I mean, why get a pet if you don't want it. I am happy for Tripod that he has you!!!

I really like the name a lot, very clever! Suits him well That was very generous of you to take him in- he's in good hands now.

I don't usually post here but I wanted to make sure there wasn't any misunderstanding on this chameleon - The veiled was a rehabilitated chameleon that has been in my care for about a year and a half.

The previous owner was a breeder really, and this chameleon was one of the smaller ones that didn't get separated out in time. I'm glad the breeder didn't just put him down. He turned out to be a really tough little chameleon.

I had to adopt him out to make room for more rescues. Veileds keep coming in, but thankfully there are people who are willing to take an imperfect chameleon.

I'm sorry I read that message and then didnt reply to it. I should have. Elisa, whom I adopted Tripod from had nothing to do with his disabilities.

Sorry about that then. I guess I just read more into what Brian said than what he meant. I have seen so many people who just totally neglect thier animals, especially reptiles because they don't understand, that I thought that was what he meant. I'm glad that you took him in and that he was able to find a good home.

Your OKAY in my book, LOL That was sweet, and I wish you the best, and a long life for Tripod

A real cutie, I have several Special needs lizards and they are INDEED special, I watch them in AWE, as their disabilities seem to go un-noticed to them. They amaze me.

That's great, Brian. You are a good soul to have taken him in - as was Elisa before you

He sure has a lot of blue going on for a veiled - or is that just reflection from hooloovoo? lol!
