Please help to identify a turtle!!!

Olena May 19, 2003 07:45 PM

I posted some low quality pictures. I hope they'll
help. I would like to know if it's a turtle or a tortoise? What kind of chelonian it is?
Im going to try to describe it. It has an even long narrow shell; soft, very fine lines on the shell, almost as if they were drawn on; yellow ears; shell is dome round shaped; no sharpnes. I found it on the road next to the Everglades National Park (Florida).
Can you please tell me what kind it is, or give me at least some possible ideas of what it can be.
Thank you.
Olena.

Are you going to release him back were you found him? I sure hope so.

right where you found him

We released him, but not in the road where somebody can run him over. We released him in Everglades National Park.

I didn't mean right in the road. I meant in the park were it was found next to.
