to all concerned......makeing progress in Boca Grande Florida..........Sheriffs Department has been alerted to Animal Cruelty takeing place there and Iguanas are protected under animal cruelty laws of Florida Wildlife Service....Sheriffs Department is starting to educate the public there.....Dr Jerome Jackson is no longer working with Boca Grande to solve the situation there.......Florida Wildlife Conservation Specialist Scott Hardin of Gainesville Office will be at June 20 Meeting at 2:30 PM in the Boca Grande Community Center to educate community on humane methods of capture and removal for euthanasia and will hopefully explain AVMA rules and regulations as outlined in their 2000 Euthanasia Panel that cover USDA APHIS VS methods of accepted Euthanasia ........Commissioners Office for 20th District Lee County will be there as will be the media....If there is anyone on this list who lives in the Fort Myers area where the State District Attorney Office is located and will stand up at the meeting and ask for relocation by reptile houses in business to business transfers of animals to areas in the US over 2000 feet in altitude as an alternative for the iguanas please contact Kevin Schneider at Rudra Center email aumshininglotus@aol.com.......we are working with the adult Ctenosaura here in california and have found the adults easy to work with and adaptable to captive colonies within two weeks time if they are put on a consistant daily organized method of care by keepers
