Why not use a plastic tub turned upside down? You can cut a hole in the front as well, so it acts as a basking platform as well as a nice dark hide.. Put a flat rock on top as well to keep the tub submerged, and the rock will also heat up nice and warm under the light for your crocodilian.

In my glass tanks I use thick plexiglass, some set ups I just have the plexi siliconed in to make a land area and then on some tanks I silicine in a plexi "wall" and then fill in behind it with pebble gravel to make the land area.

I like the plexi wall set up better, if you use a plexi set up make sure you sand down the plexi edges that will be exsposed as they can be a bit sharp.

Any special silicon I should look for that won't give off any chemicals even after dried? I'd hate to lose a little guy from something stupid like that.

I use Aquarium Sealant by Perfecto and it works well, $5.49 a tube a Meijer in the Aquarium isle.

I use the thick pley, 1/4" which is like $12.00 for a big sheet at home depote, they also sell a plexi cutter for about $2.00 which really makes things easy.

The Pea Gravel I use looks pretty nice and its less than $2.00 for a 30 pound bag at Home Depote.

Once you cut the plexi and silicone it in, let it dry ... i think the directions say 24 hours but I usually wait closer to 48 hours, then I rinse the tand out with water ... just to be safe.

oh also, if your going to make a plexi wall and fill in behind it with gravel, make sure you silicone both sides of the plexy wall ... this will make sure no water will leak over into the gravel side later.

oh also, the pea gravel should be rinsed before you put it into the tank, it has a light dust covering.

sorry for the bad spelling
