Head shy, and handling

cwolf May 24, 2006 03:29 PM

I just got a new Male youngster, 2ft /-. And he is very head shy, I have been handling him here and there, and he is getting a little better. He is one of those snakes that when you put him away, he wants to go, as opposed to wanting to be still handled. Im wondering if there is anything I can do to improve his attitude? I have been free handing him, not restraining his head, but he is very flighty, and im wondering if this is the way he will always be, or if it might improve? My other Boa, is totally the opposite, wants to be held, loves having its head petted, wont go back into the cage!

Any suggetions would be appreciated.
Chris

You might want to find a middle ground where he is out of his
cage but not being held by you all the time.

I like to put my boas & pythons on the coffee table by the TV
sometimes. They get used to watching me and being out of their
cage without being held all the time.

I think you just have to handle more & be patient...
