Forest's New Perch

ForestTime May 24, 2006 07:50 PM

Hi all. Been a long time! Hope all are doing well.

I wanted to post a quick note & a pic of Forest's new digs. Seasons have changed (sun/shade spots)so I've moved Forest out back under a tangerine tree. He still has his lounge chair but I've added a piece of cedar my boyfriend & I found on a salt marsh island (we do a lot of fishing & exploring.

This piece of wood was in the shape of a cross & was about 6 feet tall, weighing quite a bit. When Mike & I found it I begged him to drag it back for me cause I could just see my lizard loving this piece of wood. Mind you, taking any piece of wood from a salt marsh island is illegal, even a piece of driftwood (no I did NOT cut down a tree) but I had a plan...

Mikey must adore me cause he drug this piece of wood across the island for me, brought it home, helped me shorten it, set it up & I'm telling you Forest LOVES it. He litterally sits there for hours. Sometimes he falls asleep & all 4 of his arms just dangle. It's funny!

Mike thinks Forest reminds him of the lions out on that rock perch in the Lion King movie...LOL.

It's his new perch, he's king of his space & all his cousins scramble when he moves. Can you say spoiled?

He's actually on his new piece of wood. The palm tree piece is for him to climb.....poor fat boy needs a latter, lol.

Would it be sad to say I've smoothed his perch with sandpaper so there are no pokies & whatnot?

I'm such a good lizard Mommy, LOL.
