Using pavers in the tank

I've been looking for a easy way to make a little basking area for my two snapping turtles, and I got a few broken pavers from home depot the other day. The kind used for decks and walkways. Red stone. I also have a few red ceramic roof tiles.
Any dangers to using them in the tank? Should I let them soak to leech any crap off?
