i noticed that my boa is swelled on the lower half of his tail after his vent ... it feels like it is filled with liquid .. . i already made an appointment with my vet but i wanted to know if anyone has dealt with it before so i can show up with some knowledge and have a better idea of what might be going on .. thanks

Just a wild guess. Hope the vet can help him.

im also thinking of a urate blockage. snakes can get constipated with feces so im assuming that the same can happen with urates.

blockage before. Some huge urates blocked him up, he looked and felt like a soaked sponge, all bloated like. The vet was able to expell it all, and boy did he feel a lot better. But, the bloating/swelling was above the vent, not below it.

It could be edema, could be an infection of some kind, could be a tumor, or could even be an injury. Hope your snake gets better soon.
