Is This an Anery?

nextworld3 May 19, 2003 07:53 PM

Hi Everyone

i cant get a pic to show up so please email me for pics
nextworld3@aol.com

At the request of someone =who is interested in this snake, im asking you all to help us decide if this snake is anery. First it looks more anery than any one ive seen posted. Also its body color is almost white (kinda off white) its first 5 or so saddles are a peach grey then the rest of the saddles are black and grey. and the tail is almost solid black has some grey. It has no red or orange at all the only color besides black and grey is the light peach white in the saddles (first 5 or so) and a little on its head. I ve had 2 people come up and look at it. one of them said he didnt think it was but thought it definately had at least 1 parent that was anery and the second person said it was anery so im getting confused. i had it posted and everyone who emailed on it thought it was. so before i post again or send it to dave we would like to hear you thoughts (also the person i bought it from- young guy whose parents bought him everything and then got bored i bought his collection- said the parents were anery) so thanks in advine to all who reply. i have more pics if interested just email

Thanks
jon dvoretz

I'm a little confused on this "Anery" stuff. Doesn't anery mean that there is no yellow or red present?

Since I read Jon's request for help with identifying his, I've been going through the Boa classified section looking at pictures of what is called an "Anery"...most are grey and black, with no red or brown present (which is what I think of when I think anery, like the picture someone posted in response to this thread). However, one looks grey except for a red tail. Another looks dark all over, more like a Central American. I'm totally confused now! LOL!

There are so many color varients and a lot of them aren't that much different. What makes an anery?

Odd guys...I figured someone would have answered by now. LOL!

well i figured someone else would have too. so i guess i will put in my two cents worth. an anery. by definition should have no red pigment. so a grey snake with a red tail would not be anery. some hets for anery. look almost anery. but are not anery. this male with the striped tail is a het. there is some brownish red in the tail. i hope this helps.
